I am unable to check-In on an iPhone 3GS as keep getting "Inaccurate GPS data" I do live in the Yorkshire Dales, UK so dodgey signal & possibly dodgey GPS but can't get it to work inside buildings (understandable) or outside with signal. Then tried in a town with GPS and good signal and still wouldn't work? Tried check-in via mobile web but wont let me select tags? love the idea but can't get it to work!! any help appreciated...
Ok, i've got to the bottom of this from my side. I deliberately had location services turned off for this app as i did not want to check in at the location i was currently standing in, i wanted to check in somewhere a few minutes down the road. If i turn location services on then the inaccuate GPS message goes away but i can only check in at my current location. A very fustrating limitation as when i am actually out food shopping the last thing on my mind in checking in on my iPhone. Anyway my advice is to check the location services settings is turned on for this app.
I'm afriad that is by design, since we are a location based service. Lovefre.sh is built on GPS and does not contain any pre loaded data - it relies on your phones GPS services to locate places to share with each other. Turning location based services off basically turns off most functionality. I'm sorry this wasn't clearer.
We do have plans to introduce 'tasting notes' - remote checkins that you can make when you return home, we just haven't had time to build the feature yet. It's on the list.
Meanwhile, you can always make the checkin brief and attach a photo via the web when you return. Soon you'll be able to edit the checkin to add detail later, including adjusting the location, manually.
